Courses
A wide range of Electrotherapy Update Courses are delivered throughout the country throughout the year, with varying content, aims and duration, though most are of one whole day duration.
With effect from the end of October 2008, all of the Electrotherapy courses and the Electrotherapy and Tissue Repair courses will be run through an organisation dedicated to this purpose : ElectrotherapyUK. If you want to organise a course beyond this point in time, either e mail the manager Hazel Hindes (hazel@electrotherapyuk.co.uk) or visit their web site (www.electrotherapyuk.co.uk) where all the different courses on offer are detailed together with content options.
The index below indicates the dates and locations of the forthcoming events together with the contact details of the course organiser. For those who are interested in further details of such events, it is suggested that you contact the relevant person directly as I do not deal with applications or local arrangements. If you experience difficulties in making contact with the organiser, please do send me an e mail and I will attempt to get the best information to you.
The information is provided 'as is' and by putting the course information on this page, I can not guarantee that it will go ahead (even though it is booked), nor can I influence the cost or other arrangements - these are all down to the local organisation. Most courses will welcome applicants, though some may have restrictions as to the number that can be accommodated or whether they are only available to physiotherapists etc etc.
To arrange a local course go HERE for further information or e mail ElectrotherapyUK (hazel@electrotherapyuk.co.uk)

Electrotherapy I and II Courses
Both the SKF and the PhysioMed sponsored courses are based on a 2 day programme, with the first day concentrating on Tissue Repair and the modalities that can influence this process (Ultrasound, Pulsed Shortwave and Laser) and the second day based around electrical stimulation and pain management (covering TENS, Interferential, Muscle Stimulation and Combination Therapy). Each day stands alone, though taken together, they do provide a reasonably comprehensive pair.
Tissue Repair Courses - 2008
These will be run through PhysioUK and we are hoping to be able to put on a decent sized event at several key locations around the country rather than lots of small courses. You can either e mail me (t.watson@herts.ac.uk) or link to PhysioUK website to catch up with the latest developments
MSc Module - Evidence Based Electrotherapy - University of Hertfordshire :
I run a 2 week programme as part of the MSc Physiotherapy at the university which is open to individuals who wish to take the electrotherapy module as a stand alone course. If the assessment is taken at the end of the module (and you are successful of course) then there are 15 M level credits available. The course can be taken without assessment if you would rather. For further details, contact Mary Sexton (M.T.Sexton@herts.ac.uk). The 2008 dates are : the week of 21st January and the week of 25th February.
